Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fred Fredericks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Philip Carwin! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fredericks tries to clinch but Carwin is having none of it. Fredericks moves in looking to clinch but Carwin pushes him off. Carwin keeps the fight on the outside. Fredericks is looking to clinch but Carwin is avoiding it.

Fredericks closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Carwin wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Carwin closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Fredericks is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Carwin off and has taken his back! Carwin wants to get back to his feet. Fredericks wants to control but Carwin is keeping busy. Fredericks lands an elbow to the side of the head. Carwin looking very determined here, making life difficult for Fredericks.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fredericks accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Carwin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Fredericks keeping moving, preventing Carwin from controlling successfully. Fredericks looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Carwin trying to control the position from guard on top but Fredericks is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Fredericks is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Fredericks manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

and Carwin makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Carwin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Fredericks closes the distance but Carwin moves to the side and Carwin counters with a one-two to the body. Fredericks throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Fredericks wants to clinch and Carwin counters with a nice double leg into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Carwin is thwarting Fredericks's attempts to control the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Carwin is looking to advance position but Fredericks won't allow it.

He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Carwin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Carwin wants to stand but Fredericks is controlling his posture from full guard. Carwin advances to half guard.

Carwin takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. This has been an exciting period of action! Fredericks unloading with bombs! Carwin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Fredericks connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Carwin not landing any meaningful shots this time. Fredericks manages to get to full guard.
