Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Taro Mishima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abbath Occulta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mishima comes to the cage accompanied by Heavy Metal Samurai. Occulta has chosen Immortal - At the Heart of Winter as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Taro Mishima!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Abbath Occulta!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mishima lands with a good body shot.
Occulta bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Occulta fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Nice sprawl there from Mishima as Occulta shoots in.
Mishima looks to land a body kick but Occulta moved away.
Occulta throws a front kick aimed at Mishima's knee but Mishima avoids it well.
Occulta tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mishima sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Occulta somewhat.
Taro Mishima has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abbath Occulta.
Mishima connects with a solid leg kick.

Occulta drops back looking for a leg! Mishima is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mishima manages to kick Occulta off! Occulta jumps back into Mishima's guard.
Mishima pulls Occulta in to control the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Occulta passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Mishima regains half guard.
Mishima looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mishima is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Occulta pulls his head out easily.
Mishima is breathing heavily.
Mishima is in trouble now - Occulta has advanced to mount!

Occulta with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Mishima is desperately trying to improve his position but Occulta has a good base and remains in mount.
Occulta jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Mishima manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Occulta is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mishima doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Occulta.

You can see the frustration on Mishima's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Occulta has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mishima is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Occulta off and has taken his back!
Mishima is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Occulta knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Occulta for a finish.
Mishima is looking for a choke. Occulta gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Occulta manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
Occulta stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mishima swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mishima is trying to control the position but Occulta postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Occulta accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Taro Mishima dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Occulta shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mishima as he jumps to the side.
Abbath Occulta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mishima throws a nice head kick!
Mishima on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Occulta tries for a takedown but Mishima sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Occulta ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Occulta.

Occulta changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mishima tries to avoid it but Occulta manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mishima to the ground. Mishima escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Mishima lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Occulta circles away quickly and effectively.
Mishima will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Occulta shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mishima sprawls well. Mishima wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Occulta gets slowly back to his feet.
Mishima misses with a series of wild punches.
Occulta lands with a straight right. Mishima didn't see that one coming.

The fighters circle momentarily. Mishima darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Nice uppercut lands for Mishima. That snapped Occulta's head back.
Occulta changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mishima tries to avoid it but Occulta manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mishima to the ground. Mishima escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Mishima will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Mishima swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Occulta.
Mishima slaps away a takedown attempt from Occulta, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Occulta gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Mishima.
Mishima scores with a jab.
Occulta is rocked!
Mishima lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Occulta falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!
