Justin has chosen Welcome to the TerrorDome as his entrance music. Sir Justin looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benoit misses with a takedown attempt - Justin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Benoit darts in and clinches Justin up against the cage.
Benoit avoiding damage as Justin throws knees to the body.

Justin prevents a takedown attempt there.

Justin jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Benoit walks away with a smile on his face. Justin gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Benoit tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Benoit on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Justin drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Benoit has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Justin is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Justin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Benoit. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Benoit is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Justin defends well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Justin can do anything to dispel that myth.
Benoit is stalling here. Justin is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Benoit seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Justin has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Thomas Benoit just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
