Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Monkey D Luffy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JP Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Steve Montenegro and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacobs shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has D Luffy pinned against the cage. D Luffy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jacobs closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

D Luffy pushes Jacobs away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Jacobs gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
D Luffy is not content to let Jacobs control the position.
Jacobs throws a strike aimed at the side of D Luffy's head but D Luffy avoids it well.

Jacobs has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Jacobs changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. D Luffy looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Jacobs throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around D Luffy's waist but D Luffy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jacobs off to one side.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

JP Jacobs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

D Luffy shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jacobs manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
D Luffy wants to pass the guard but Jacobs is keeping the position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

That was a close round but I would say that Monkey D Luffy will probably get the nod.

Jacobs is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by D Luffy.

Jacobs looks up at the clock and then as D Luffy takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jacobs smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Jacobs wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by D Luffy, who protects the arm well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Jacobs creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

D Luffy tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jacobs wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

D Luffy is trying to break the clinch but Jacobs is controlling him.

Jacobs shoots in and bounces D Luffy off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

JP Jacobs comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
