Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Cocoa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryo Miyaguchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryo Miyaguchi told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miyaguchi slips a straight right by Cocoa.
Cocoa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Miyaguchi circles away quickly and effectively.
Miyaguchi misses with a straight left.
A big right from Miyaguchi misses.
Miyaguchi misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Miyaguchi loads up on a big right hand but Cocoa slips the punch.
No joy there for Cocoa, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Good leg kick by Miyaguchi there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Miyaguchi throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A punch lands to the side of Cocoa 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Miyaguchi shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cocoa's guard.
Cocoa throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Miyaguchi escapes and throws Cocoa's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Some bone on bone action there as Cocoa checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Cocoa changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Miyaguchi tries to avoid it but Cocoa manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Miyaguchi to the ground. Miyaguchi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cocoa.

Cocoa wants to pass the guard but Miyaguchi is keeping the position.
Miyaguchi pulls Cocoa in close to his closed guard and prevents Cocoa from doing any damage or advancing position.
Cocoa stands and throws Miyaguchi's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Cocoa goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Miyaguchi rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Cocoa's guard! Nice work there by Miyaguchi!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Nick Cocoa.
I think Miyaguchi has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
