The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benoit wants to clinch up but Winchester keeps it at a distance.
Benoit tries to clinch there but Winchester circles away.
Benoit gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Winchester prevents a takedown attempt there.
Benoit cracks Winchester with a nice body shot.
Benoit tries to circle away but Winchester has him pinned against the ropes.
Winchester gets underhooks to prevent Benoit's takedown attempt.
Winchester tries to stall but Benoit uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Winchester misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Benoit.

Winchester manages to break the clinch.
Winchester misses with a series of wild punches.
Benoit misses with a head kick.
Benoit takes the fight into the clinch.
Winchester lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Benoit changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Winchester fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Sam Winchester has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thomas Benoit.
Winchester connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Benoit circles away from the clinch attempt.
Benoit takes one to the side of the head.
Winchester throws a shot to the body.
Winchester buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Winchester scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Benoit shoots for a takedown but Winchester saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Benoit looks gassed!
Winchester connects with the punch.
Benoit takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Winchester connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Benoit tumbling to the canvas! Winchester pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Benoit was done - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Sam Winchester!
