Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ethan Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith has chosen Wretches and Kings by Linkin Park as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ethan Kent! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Smith! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kent to the mat! Kent manages to get full guard. Kent looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Smith is stalling in the full guard. Smith scoring with punches to the head and body. Kent working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Smith. Smith is looking to work some ground and pound but Kent has wrist control. Smith showing good wrestling skills to control the position. I looks like Smith might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Let's hope that Smith has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Despite being in the dominant position, Dan Smith just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Smith closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Smith controls the position. Smith's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kent tries to bench press Smith off him but Smith keeps the position. Smith is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kent has escaped the position, nice work there. You can see the frustration on Kent's face as Smith controls the position. Kent is looking for a sweep. Smith is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Smith in side control lands a decent elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Smith throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Smith throws a strike aimed at the side of Kent's head but Kent avoids it well. Smith is trying to get an arm triangle but Kent is defending well. Smith moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Smith working the head with strikes. Kent prevents Smith from improving position. Smith decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kent to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Smith dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Kent blocks a head kick by Smith.
Smith throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Kent with a lazy takedown attempt and Smith counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Smith breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Smith looks for the body kick but Kent saw that one coming. Smith is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kent. Smith moves into range and clinches up with Kent. Smith turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Smith manages to end up in side control. Smith decides to stand back up. Smith steps back and let's Kent get back to his feet. Smith throws a series of punches but Kent moves out of range. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Smith tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Smith throws a right and a left that both miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kent was covering up waiting for the punch and Smith finishes the takedown easily into guard. Kent is trying to hold Smith in close to prevent damage but Smith has managed to pass into half guard.
Smith is trying to control the action in half guard but Kent is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Kent wants to control but Smith is keeping busy.
Smith performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Kent is looking to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kent wants to get back to his feet.
Smith winds up and cracks Kent with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Smith is controlling the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kent wants to improve his position but Smith is controlling well.
Smith scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Smith is controlling the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Despite being in the dominant position, Dan Smith just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kent slaps away a takedown attempt from Smith, before circling back to the center of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Smith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Smith moves into the clinch successfully.
Smith jumps guard and drags Kent to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Smith is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Smith seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kent trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kent. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Smith wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Smith looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kent is one step ahead there. Smith tries to strike from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Smith has his feet on Kent's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Kent tries to keep at a distance but Smith has taken the fight into the clinch. Smith breaks the clinch.
Smith throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Kent gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Smith counters with a takedown into side control. Dan Smith is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kent is trying to get back to his feet. Kent tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Smith wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Smith takes a little break here. Kent wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Kent can't do much from the bottom here.
And that's the end of the fight! Dan Smith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Smith has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
