Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Justin Coon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mac Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Justin Coon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mac Hansen!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Joseph Jones and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hansen throws a push kick but Coon slaps the foot to one side.
Hansen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Coon circles away.

Coon closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hansen to the mat! Hansen manages to get full guard.
Coon looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Hansen is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Coon tries to free his leg and advance position but Hansen is retaining full guard.

Coon stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Hansen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Coon but Coon pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hansen staying out of range there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hansen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Hansen scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Coon shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hansen's guard.
Hansen pulls Coon in close to his closed guard and prevents Coon from doing any damage or advancing position.

Coon gets to his feet - Hansen follows without any prompting.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Coon.
Hansen throws a front kick aimed at Coon's knee but Coon avoids it well.

Hansen looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Hansen postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hansen postures up in Coon's guard and throws a big left but Coon blocks it.
Hansen controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Coon looking for a sweep. Not yet Coon, not yet.
Hansen advances position into side control!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hansen in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Coon misses with a strike from the bottom.

Hansen decides to stand back up. Hansen steps back and let's Coon get back to his feet.
Hansen misses with a two punch combination.
Coon has his takedown stuffed

and Hansen counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Coon!
Coon manages to control the position for a moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Coon is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Hansen with a couple of short strikes.
Hansen trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Coon is looking to improve his position but Hansen isn't that keen on the idea.
Coon is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Coon is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Hansen lands a big shot there that rocks Coon but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Coon regains half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hansen thows a huge punch but Coon dodges it nicely.
Coon keeping hold of Hansen's head, controlling as best he can.
Hansen is trying to control the action in half guard but Coon is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Hansen winds up and cracks Coon with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Coon wants to get back to his feet.

Coon makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Hansen shoots and misses

and Coon counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Justin Coon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mac Hansen.
Coon is breathing heavily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Coon postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Coon is looking to work some ground and pound but Hansen has wrist control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mac Hansen will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hansen tries to clinch but Coon is having none of it.
Hansen closes the distance and clinches up with Coon, looking for a takedown. Hansen pushes Coon against the cage but Coon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Coon blocks a jab.
Hansen fails with the takedown

and Coon counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Coon wants to control but Hansen is keeping him busy.
Coon keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Hansen keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Hansen holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Coon thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Coon controlling the action here.
Coon wants to take a breather but Hansen is having none of it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Coon is controlling the pace.
Coon slips a nice elbow through Hansen's hands, connecting with Hansen's forehead.
Coon missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Coon trying to control the action but Hansen is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Hansen looking for submissions off his back.
Coon is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Hansen kicks off Coon and gets to his feet.
Hansen wants to clinch up but Coon keeps it at a distance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hansen throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Coon counters by clinching up.
Hansen is breathing heavily.
Coon lands a knee to the body.
Coon changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Hansen fights it off and pushes away nicely.
A slapping body kick lands there for Coon.
Hansen throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Coon doesn't succeed with the takedown

so Hansen counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Hansen content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Hansen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Coon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Coon tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Coon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hansen landing with the ground and pound.
Coon manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hansen manages to get himself to full guard.
Coon wants to stand but Hansen has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Hansen looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Coon trying to control but Hansen is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Justin Coon dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Coon with a lazy takedown attempt

and Hansen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Coon's guard.
Coon lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hansen!
Coon thowing shots but they're missing.
Coon controlling from mount.
Hansen slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Coon keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Hansen keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Hansen keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Coon is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Coon looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hansen is trying to stand up here but Coon is controlling him well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hansen is not content to let Coon control the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Coon shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Coon showed some decent athleticism there.

Coon is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hansen defends it well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Coon prevents Hansen from standing back up.
Coon is keen to just control but Hansen is a slippery customer.
Hansen trying to control from the bottom.
Ground and pound from Coon.
Hansen is trying to maintain the position but Coon is very close to passing his half guard.
Coon trying to control the action but Hansen is working from the bottom.
Coon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hansen trying to control here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Coon goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Coon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hansen pinned against the cage. Hansen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hansen swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Coon counters with a nice kick to the body.
Hansen misses with a kick to the body.
Coon dodges the punch combination from Hansen.

Coon clinches.
Coon can't find room to land a body shot as Hansen controls the action.
Coon is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hansen pulls him back up using the underhooks.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Justin Coon.
Well Coon has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
