Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Grandmaster Red! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steve Reynolds! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Red scores with a hook to the body. Reynolds takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Red lands with a right hand. Reynolds tries to clinch up but Red circles away and keeps his distance. Red blocks a jab. Reynolds misses with a wild combination.
Reynolds scores with a takedown into Red's guard. Reynolds postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Red is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Reynolds, into his guard. Red sitting in guard, not really doing much. Red wants to pass the guard but Reynolds is keeping the position. Red postures up.
Red knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Reynolds on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reynolds throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Reynolds preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Red loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Reynolds is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Red is aware though and is defending well. Red throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Reynolds works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Reynolds escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Red gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Reynolds has a closed guard, preventing Red from standing up. Reynolds throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Red gets to his feet - Reynolds follows without any prompting.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reynolds tries for a takedown but Red sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Red lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Reynolds cracks a nice hook into Red's ribs. Reynolds takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Reynolds misses with a jab to the body
and Red counters with a straight right hand.
Reynolds is rocked! Red throws an overhand right that drops Reynolds like a sack of potatoes! Red dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Grandmaster Red!
