Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renaldo Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renaldo Diaz! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Leandro Rodrigues and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Diaz tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Diaz to the ground. Diaz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jones darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Diaz manages to get to full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Jones avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Jones wants to control from the top but Diaz keeps moving. Jones working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Jones drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jones jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Diaz is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jones defends well. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Diaz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment. Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Diaz swivels though and keeps the full guard. Diaz looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Diaz throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Diaz has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though. Jones missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Diaz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jones defends it easily. Diaz looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Jones scoring with punches to the head and body. Jones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Jones with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Diaz has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though. Diaz looks gassed! Diaz looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Jones trying to control but Diaz is working from the bottom. Jones scoring with punches to the head and body. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Diaz working for a triangle but Jones defends it easily.
Jones in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Diaz doesn't manage to clinch there - Jones circles away.
Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Diaz tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Diaz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Jones has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Diaz on the wrong end of a nice jab. Diaz fails in his attempt to clinch. Jones tries to bum rush Diaz with a series of wild strikes but Diaz uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Jones connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Diaz shoots in and bounces Jones off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Jones manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Diaz manages to get himself to full guard.
Diaz has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Jones should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Diaz has tightened it up now! Jones should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
