Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of London, Thomas Reid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Anthony Bova!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bova closes the distance and clinches.
Bova looking to slow down the pace here.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Bova.
Bova looking to throw knees to the head but Reid is blocking nicely.
Reid wants to get back to striking at distance but Bova won't allow it.

Reid's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Bova closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Bova gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Reid regains guard.
Reid being controlled here, momentarily.
Reid avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Reid controls Bova momentarily but Bova frees himself.
Bova won't allow Reid to sweep him here.

Reid is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reid keeping full guard, as Bova tries to pass.

Bova avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Reid looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bova is one step ahead there.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Bova shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Bova is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Bova slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Reid keeping his opponent close.
Bova lands some shots froms side control.
Reid is looking for a sweep.
Bova throws a strike aimed at the side of Reid's head but Reid avoids it well.
Bova lands an elbow.
Bova taking a break here but Reid is having none of it and regains half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reid is breathing heavily.

Bova stalling.
Reid on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Reid tries to get out of the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bova is keen to just control but Reid is a slippery customer.
Bova is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Reid keeping moving, preventing Bova from controlling successfully.

Reid is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bova is aware though and is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Bova decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Bova shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bova showed some decent athleticism there.
Reid is looking to get back to is feet but Bova passes into side control.
Bova is staying tight to Reid's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Bova trying to control the action but Reid is working from the bottom.
Bova just content to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anthony Bova dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Reid with a poor takedown

and Bova decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Reid's guard.
Reid is pulling down on Bova's head to control his posture.
Bova tries to stand but Reid is controlling from the bottom.
Bova sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Reid's guard.
Reid is looking to escape.
Bova seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Reid tries to get to full guard but Bova has control of the leg.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Reid has hold of Bova's hands but Bova slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Reid is trying to control but can't.

Reid is defending against the submission attempts here by Bova.
Bova is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Bova lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Reid is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Reid keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Bova controlling the pace.
Reid is refusing to be controlled, as Bova sits in half guard.
Bova is taking a breather. Reid says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Bova works his way into side control.

Bova decides to stand back up.
Reid tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Bova counters with a one-two to the body.
Reid swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Reid stuffs the takedown attempt from Bova. Bova gets slowly back to his feet.

Bova closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Reid tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Bova manages to move to mount!
Bova pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Bova stands up from mount. Strange move.

Bova darts in and clinches Reid up against the cage.

Bova breaks from the clinch.
Bova fails to land with a series of punches.
Bova shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Reid counters with a single leg into guard. Bova didn't expect that.
Anthony Bova has got the better of the ground game so far.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Reid wanted to stand there but Bova had control of the position.
Bova wants to sweep here but Reid controlling him for the moment.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Bova is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Reid rolls with it to try and escape but Bova cranks on the arm and Reid is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
