Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sid Kruss! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Kent! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice defenses there by Kruss. Kruss ducks under a wild hook from Kent. Kruss takes one to the chin there.
It looks like Sid Kruss has been cut. Kent throws a looping overhand right but Kruss ducks down to avoid it. Kruss tries to close the distance and clinch but Kent swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Kent throws a big shot that misses. Kruss defending well as Kent loads up on a big left hand. Kent waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Kruss. Kruss ducks under a wild hook from Kent. Nice takedown defense from Kent. No joy for Kruss on that attempt. Kent throws the left hand but Kruss avoids the punch easily. Kruss uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kent. Kruss is rocked! Kent looks gassed! Kruss blocks a jab. Oh Kruss is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Kent should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Kent swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Kruss seems to have got his legs back now. Kent is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kruss. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kent can do anything to dispel that myth. Kent is working an open guard so Kruss takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Sid Kruss will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Sid Kruss's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kruss wriggles free and stands up. Kruss moves into range and clinches up with Kent. Kruss pulls Kent into guard.
Kruss bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kent's guard. Kent is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Kruss dives into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kent tries to escape but Kruss is in control. Kent tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Kent trying desperately to get to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Kruss takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Kruss has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Kruss's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Kent wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Kruss connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Kent some visible discomfort.
Kent is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kent is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Kruss asserts his dominance and retains side control. Kruss is looking to take a break and control but Kent is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kent explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sid Kruss dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Sid Kruss's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
