Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bob Backlund (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and El Chingon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chingon is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: "Above the Clouds" By Gang Starr. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bob Backlund! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, El Chingon! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Backlund gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Chingon wants to pass the guard but Backlund is keeping the position. Backlund preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Chingon wants to control from the top but Backlund keeps moving. Chingon throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Backlund wants to stand and escape but Chingon is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chingon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Backlund works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Backlund wants to stand but Chingon is controlling the position. Chingon keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Backlund's head. Backlund preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Chingon tries to clinch there but Backlund circles away.
Chingon wants to slow Backlund down by chopping away at his legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Chingon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Chingon tries to score with some ground and pound. Backlund controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Chingon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Chingon misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Chingon decides to stand back up. Backlund shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Chingon napping and manages to drive through into side control! Chingon is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Backlund stands up and we're back to a striking position. Backlund gets caught flat footed, as Chingon shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Chingon trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Chingon stays in close to Backlund's body and controls the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Backlund pushes Chingon off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Backlund with a poor takedown and Chingon counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Chingon misses with a takedown attempt and Backlund counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Chingon pushes Backlund off and gets back to his feet. Chingon looks gassed! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Chingon with a lazy takedown attempt and Backlund counters with a nice double leg into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Bob Backlund will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Backlund sneaks out the side door and pushes Chingon away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Chingon tries to clinch but Backlund moves away and Backlund counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Backlund. Chingon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Backlund's guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. This has been an exciting period of action! Chingon trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Backlund pushes Chingon off and gets back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Backlund misses with a takedown attempt and Chingon counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Backlund's guard now. Backlund wants to get back to his feet but Chingon is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Chingon trying to control the position from guard on top but Backlund is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Backlund avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chingon is in close to Backlund's body, working some short punches and elbows. Chingon wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Chingon tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Backlund decides to stand back up. Backlund steps back and let's Chingon get back to his feet. Backlund looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Chingon slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Bob Backlund will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Backlund won't allow Chingon to sweep him here. Chingon is looking for a triangle but Backlund pushes his legs off easily.

Backlund stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Chingon to get to his feet. Chingon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. El Chingon has got the better of the ground game so far. Chingon throwing shots but missing, from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chingon working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Backlund wants to get back to his feet but Chingon drags him back down. Chingon throws an elbow but Backlund slips to the side and avoids it well. Chingon works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. El Chingon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Backlund bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Backlund shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
And that's the end of the fight! El Chingon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Backlund has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
