Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between David Cline (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Maleady (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan Maleady is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ryan Maleady! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cline throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Maleady. Cline misses with a jab, cross combination.
Maleady closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Maleady wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cline keeps working. Maleady with the ground and pound but Cline regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Maleady wants to stand up but Cline is controlling the position.

Maleady thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Maleady content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Maleady stands and steps away. Cline gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Cline fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Cline lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Maleady circles away quickly and effectively. Cline is breathing heavily.

Maleady looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Maleady works his foot free and advances to mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Maleady tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Maleady stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Maleady fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Maleady drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Maleady trying to control the position from guard on top but Cline is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Maleady slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Maleady gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Maleady fails with a takedown attempt from distance. David Cline has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Maleady. Cline misses with a jab, cross combination.

Maleady shoots in looking for a takedown. Cline tries to sprawl out of it but Maleady keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cline manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Cline throws a nice looking combination but Maleady bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. No joy there for Cline, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Cline throws a series of punches but Maleady avoids them all with ease. Maleady shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Maleady gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Maleady moves into the clinch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Maleady wants a takedown but no success here.
Maleady has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Cline regains guard immediately. Cline can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Maleady controls the pace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maleady drops back looking for a leg! Cline is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cline manages to kick Maleady off! Maleady jumps back into Cline's guard. Maleady is pushing down on Cline's leg trying to pass to half guard. Cline is fighting to maintain full guard but Maleady has managed to sneak the leg through. Cline knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Maleady on the ground. Maleady has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Maleady throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Maleady controlling his opponent. Maleady's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Maleady throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maleady controlling the pace for now. Maleady trying to control but he's not successful this time. Cline is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Maleady swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
