The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cunningham lands a left and a right that send Kudryavtsev crashing to the mat, dazed. Cunningham thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Svyatoslav Kudryavtsev has been cut.

Kudryavtsev shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kudryavtsev was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Cunningham connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kudryavtsev. Kudryavtsev circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Kudryavtsev throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cunningham's waist but Cunningham gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kudryavtsev off to one side.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kudryavtsev has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Kudryavtsev feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Cunningham lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Horrible takedown by Kudryavtsev or perhaps it was just good defense by Cunningham which made him look bad.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Svyatoslav Kudryavtsev.
I think Cunningham has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
