2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Igor Ahtopaine! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Daniel McVicar! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McVicar throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ahtopaine is defended easily by McVicar. McVicar moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. McVicar throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Ahtopaine will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ahtopaine really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Ahtopaine shoots in for a double leg but McVicar sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Igor Ahtopaine. That's going to take a lot out of him. McVicar throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. McVicar tries a head kick but it misses.
Ahtopaine closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming McVicar to the mat! McVicar manages to get full guard. Ahtopaine is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! McVicar is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! McVicar has escaped and now he's on top! McVicar got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ahtopaine has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McVicar has managed to get both his arms back between Ahtopaine's legs - danger averted. Ahtopaine is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Ahtopaine working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McVicar doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McVicar manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Ahtopaine is breathing heavily.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Left hook, right uppercut from McVicar. McVicar pulls out of a head kick attempt.
McVicar tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ahtopaine swats him away and circles back towards the center. Ahtopaine showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from McVicar.

Ahtopaine jumps guard and drags McVicar to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. McVicar throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. McVicar is stalling in the full guard. Ahtopaine has his foot on McVicar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McVicar works his way back into a safe position though. McVicar controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Ahtopaine takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. McVicar is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Ahtopaine rather than just go for the knockout. McVicar misses with a head kick.

McVicar looks to land a combination but Ahtopaine avoids it well. McVicar connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ahtopaine momentarily.

Ahtopaine throwing shots but McVicar is blocking nicely. McVicar keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. McVicar tries to get to full guard but Ahtopaine has control of the leg. McVicar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ahtopaine. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ahtopaine not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Ahtopaine is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. McVicar doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ahtopaine. McVicar is concentrating on defense, preventing Ahtopaine from advancing position.

Ahtopaine trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as McVicar holds on and takes a little breather. Ahtopaine drops back looking for a leg! McVicar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McVicar manages to kick Ahtopaine off! Ahtopaine jumps back into McVicar's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel McVicar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

A low kick from McVicar lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Ahtopaine has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Ahtopaine and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. McVicar throws a sloppy head kick and Ahtopaine moves out of range easily. Ahtopaine shoots in and drives through. McVicar sprawls well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McVicar tests Ahtopaine's chin there with a solid looking shot. A bone on bone clash there as McVicar blocks the leg kick.

Nice combination. McVicar thuds a left hand into Ahtopaine's body. Ahtopaine has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McVicar fails in his attempt to clinch. McVicar misses with a head kick.

Ahtopaine will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Ahtopaine jumps back into McVicar's guard. Igor Ahtopaine has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McVicar can do anything to dispel that myth. Ahtopaine throws a big right hand that misses.
And that's the end of the fight! Daniel McVicar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got McVicar winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
