Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Edman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antony Van Der Solje (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paul Edman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Antony Van Der Solje! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Edman is looking to clinch. Van Der Solje looks to throw the jab but Edman is out of range. Van Der Solje swinging wildly here.
Van Der Solje fails with a takedown attempt. Van Der Solje takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Van Der Solje looks gassed! Edman swinging wildly here.
Edman throws a nice looking combination but Van Der Solje bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Edman moves in looking to clinch but Van Der Solje pushes him off. Edman drives through with a takedown into guard. Edman trying to move into half guard but instead Van Der Solje has managed to sweep! Edman is looking to stand up but Van Der Solje isn't so interested in that idea. Edman wants to sweep but no luck.
That's one minute gone in the round. Edman is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Van Der Solje stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Edman swivels though and keeps the full guard. Edman is adopting a defensive guard. Van Der Solje should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Edman throws out a loose jab but Van Der Solje uses good head movement to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Edman has taken the fight to the clinch.
Edman gets underhooks to prevent Van Der Solje's takedown attempt.
Edman scores with an uppercut up the middle. Edman jumps into guard, dragging Van Der Solje to the mat.
Van Der Solje pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Edman is keeping the position for now. Edman wants to stand but Van Der Solje is controlling the position. Edman is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Der Solje trying to control the position from guard on top but Edman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Van Der Solje drops back looking for a leg! Edman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Edman manages to kick Van Der Solje off! Van Der Solje jumps back into Edman's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Van Der Solje accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Edman misses with a takedown and Van Der Solje counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Van Der Solje. Van Der Solje won't allow Edman to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Van Der Solje trying to control but Edman is working from the bottom. Van Der Solje trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Edman has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Van Der Solje won't allow Edman to get back to his feet. Van Der Solje trying to control but Edman is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paul Edman dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Van Der Solje fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Edman fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Edman misses with a series of wild punches.
Van Der Solje closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Van Der Solje lands in his opponent's guard. Van Der Solje is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Edman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Van Der Solje on the ground. Van Der Solje is breathing heavily. Van Der Solje postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Edman is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Van Der Solje, into his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Edman postures up in Van Der Solje's guard and throws a big left but Van Der Solje blocks it. Edman not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Edman is looking to work some ground and pound but Van Der Solje has wrist control. Van Der Solje working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Edman has passed into half guard!
Edman tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Van Der Solje.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Van Der Solje actively working from the bottom here. Edman is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Edman prevents Van Der Solje from improving his position. Edman is thwarting Van Der Solje's attempts to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Edman wants to free his trapped foot but Van Der Solje is holding on for dear life with his legs. Edman wants to stand but Van Der Solje has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Van Der Solje keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Edman misses with a kick to the body and Van Der Solje counters with a nice double leg into side control. Edman won't be happy with that. What's Edman going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle. Edman tries to bench press Van Der Solje off him but Van Der Solje keeps the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Van Der Solje taking a break here but Edman is having none of it and regains half guard. Van Der Solje is figuring out what he wants to do next. Edman slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Edman pulls Van Der Solje in close to prevent any damage. Van Der Solje passes Edman's right leg, so he's now in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Antony Van Der Solje showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
A nice combination there by Edman.
Edman drives through with a takedown into guard. Van Der Solje is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Edman has his hands clasped together but Van Der Solje extends an breaks Edman's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Van Der Solje.
