The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jupe feints and as Djere raises his hands in defense, Jupe changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Djere looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Jupe pushes down on Djere's leg and manages to get into half guard. Jupe is keen to just control but Djere is a slippery customer. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jupe connects with a nice short shot to Djere's temple. Jupe landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Jupe drops an elbow to the side of Djere's head. Jupe is looking for a kimura here.
Jupe in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Djere tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Jupe!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Fredrick Jupe!
