Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marius Zaromskis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Louis! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Albert Achterberg and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A good leg kick by Zaromskis. Zaromskis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Louis paws at him with a jab and circles away. Louis misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Zaromskis closes the distance and clinches. A nice right hand lands inside from Zaromskis. Zaromskis landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Zaromskis lands a damaging elbow. Zaromskis putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Louis in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Louis is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Zaromskis pulls him back up using the underhooks. Louis tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Louis looks gassed!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Zaromskis is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Zaromskis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Louis paws at him with a jab and circles away. Louis misses with a two punch combination.

Zaromskis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Louis, pushing him back against the ropes. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Louis tries to break free but Zaromskis pushes him back against the ropes. Zaromskis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Marius Zaromskis dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Zaromskis displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Louis. Zaromskis closes the distance and clinches. Louis letting Zaromskis take a breather here. Zaromskis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Louis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Louis tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Zaromskis rushes Louis and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. Zaromskis lands an elbow inside. Zaromskis working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Zaromskis using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Zaromskis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Zaromskis moves into range and clinches up with Louis. Zaromskis creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Louis's defenses. Knees in the clinch landing for Zaromskis.
Zaromskis pulls guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Louis stops Zaromskis from standing up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Louis trying to control but Zaromskis is working from the bottom. Louis wants to stand and escape but instead Zaromskis has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Zaromskis tries to stand but Louis is controlling from the bottom. Louis controls Zaromskis momentarily but Zaromskis frees himself. Zaromskis has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Louis is proving hard to escape from.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Zaromskis trying to control but Louis is working from the bottom. Louis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Zaromskis pushes Louis away with a front kick. Zaromskis lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Zaromskis rushes Louis and presses him up against the ropes. Zaromskis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Louis is fighting it off but Zaromskis persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Louis's guard against the ropes. Zaromskis sitting in guard, not really doing much. Zaromskis would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Louis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Zaromskis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Louis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Louis shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Louis was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Zaromskis is trying to stand up. Louis throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Zaromskis because Louis loaded up on that one. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Louis throws some wild stikes that Zaromskis manages to avoid easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Louis trying to control but he's not successful this time. Louis moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Zaromskis has worked his arm free - good work by Zaromskis!
Louis is looking to take a break and control but Zaromskis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Louis tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Louis is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Zaromskis is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Louis tries to score with some ground and pound. Zaromskis controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Louis wants to control but Zaromskis is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zaromskis explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Zaromskis has closed the distance and engaged Louis in a clinch.
Zaromskis has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Louis is trying to keep an underhook but Zaromskis manages to get the takedown into half guard. Mike Louis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Zaromskis decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Zaromskis gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Marius Zaromskis is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Zaromskis tightens his grip and picks Louis up, before dumping him to the ground. Louis manages to land in guard.

Louis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Zaromskis manages to get himself to full guard.
Louis trying to control but Zaromskis is working from the bottom. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Louis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Louis prevents Zaromskis from getting back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Marius Zaromskis showed his dominance in that final round. Well Zaromskis has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
