Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Glen Burnett! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takumi Gunma! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gunma scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Burnett misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Gunma is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Burnett sees it coming and defends easily. Gunma takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Gunma wants to work for an arm triangle but Burnett is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Burnett is looking for a sweep. Gunma is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Burnett has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gunma is working away from the top position though. Gunma slips a nice elbow through Burnett's hands, connecting with Burnett's forehead. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gunma scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Gunma lands with a punch from half guard. Burnett tries to kick Gunma off but Gunma keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Gunma wants to work for an arm triangle but Burnett is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gunma looks gassed! Burnett tries to get to full guard but Gunma has control of the leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gunma frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Gunma is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Burnett can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Burnett is looking to get to half guard. Burnett is squirming around, avoiding Gunma's attempts to control the action. Burnett is trying desperately to improve position. Burnett is working hard here to advance position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Gunma working the ground and pound effectively.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Gunma is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Burnett can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
