Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Ware (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Ware told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ware throws a big shot that misses. Steele shoots for a double leg takedown but Ware sprawls well. He's pushed Steele's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Steele tries to close the distance and clinch but Ware swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ware slaps away a takedown attempt from Steele, before circling back to the center of the mat. Ware misses with a body shot.
Ware throws a big shot that misses. A big right from Ware misses. Ware connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Ware misses with a hook. Nice sprawl there from Ware as Steele shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Steele. That's going to take a lot out of him. A big right from Ware misses. Ware throws the left hand but Steele avoids the punch easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steele ducks under a wild hook from Ware. Steele defending well as Ware loads up on a big left hand. Ware loads up on a big right hand but Steele slips the punch. Ware throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Ware throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Ware might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. A slow jab from Ware misses its intended target. Steele uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ware. Steele shoots in looking for a takedown. Ware tries to sprawl out of it but Steele keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ware manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Steele shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ware as he avoids it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steele looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. James Ware seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ware misses with a looping right. Steele defending well as Ware loads up on a big left hand. Ware misses with a looping right. Steele keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Steele wants to clinch up but Ware keeps it at a distance. Steele uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ware.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steele fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ware avoids it really well and circles away. Ware swings for the body but Steele moves out of range.
Ware misses with a wild body shot. Ware throws a hook but Steele avoids it easily. Ware thows a body shot but no joy. James Ware is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ware missing with a left hand there. Steele was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Ware works Steele's body with a nice hook. Ware connects with a good right hand that stumbles Steele. Steele circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
It looks like John Steele has been cut. Steele closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Steele is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ware drops Steele with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Steele looks back up at him and smiles so Ware waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Ware misses with a body shot.
Ware cracks Steele with a left hook right on the temple and Steele goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Ware lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Steele is OK!
