Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jun Kimura! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Latish Festin! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Hirohito Nitta and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Festin misses with a straight right. Festin shoots in but Kimura avoids the takedown attempt easily. Kimura keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Kimura shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Kimura working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Kimura seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Festin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Festin is trying to stand up here but Kimura is controlling him well. Festin trying to control but Kimura postures up.
Festin keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Kimura looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Kimura is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kimura throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Kimura has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kimura seems to be looking for submissions.
Kimura stops Festin from getting back to his feet.
Kimura is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Festin doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kimura. Festin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kimura. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kimura trying to mount his opponent but Festin defends it. Kimura is breathing heavily. Festin is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kimura scores with a couple of nice shots. Kimura wants to pass to mount but Festin is defending the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Kimura is thwarting Festin's attempts to control the position. Kimura is trying for a kimura here. Festin looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Kimura wins by kimura!
