Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Savinay Pillavino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pillavino comes into the arena with Tere Bina blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Savinay Pillavino! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Peters! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peters moves into the clinch. Pillavino misses with the head strike.
Pillavino tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Peters pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Peters showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Pillavino.

Peters shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. No luck with that takedown attempt from Pillavino. Pillavino scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Pillavino scores with a takedown into Peters's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Pillavino slips nicely into half guard. Pillavino wants to free his trapped foot but Peters is holding on for dear life with his legs. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Peters wants to control but Pillavino is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pillavino is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Peters is just riding it out for now. Pillavino eventually gives up the hold. Peters is looking to control Pillavino's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Peters avoid being mounted? Peters looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Pillavino is trying to control the action in half guard but Peters is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Peters looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Pillavino is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Pillavino throws a combination. Peters tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Peters fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Pillavino, pushing him back against the cage. Pillavino swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Pillavino is trying to maintain a safe position but Peters gets an underhook and turns Pillavino into the cage. Pillavino tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Pillavino lands with a left to the head. Pillavino swings wildly with an uppercut but Peters uses good head movement to avoid it. Pillavino doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Peters tries to pull guard but Pillavino holds him up against the cage and eventually Peters drops back down to his feet.
Peters is pressed up against the cage. Pillavino has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Peters down to the mat. Peters avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pillavino fails to land with a series of punches.
Savinay Pillavino seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Peters slips a straight right by Pillavino. Peters slips under a jab from Pillavino. Peters attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Pillavino throws out a loose jab but Peters uses good head movement to avoid it. Pillavino lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
A big right from Pillavino misses. Peters fails with the takedown. Pillavino shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Peters pinned against the cage. Peters gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Savinay Pillavino. That's going to take a lot out of him. Peters throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Pillavino throws out a loose jab but Peters uses good head movement to avoid it. Pillavino with a poor takedown and Peters decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pillavino's guard. Pillavino looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Peters tries to free his leg and advance position but Pillavino is retaining full guard. Peters trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Pillavino manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Pillavino with a flurry of punches that miss. Pillavino avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Pillavino throws a big right hand that misses. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Peters preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Peters working for a triangle but Pillavino defends it easily.

Peters looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pillavino is one step ahead there. Peters avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Pillavino is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Peters is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Peters has escaped and now he's on top! Peters preventing the sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Peters wants to pass the guard but Pillavino is keeping the position. Peters is stalling in the full guard. Peters passes into half guard. Pillavino is trying to control but can't.
Peters is working for a kimura here but Pillavino manages to reverse the position and he's now in Peters's guard.
Pillavino is working Peters over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Pillavino with a flurry of punches that miss. Peters working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Pillavino. Peters keeping full guard, as Pillavino tries to pass. Pillavino throws a strike but Peters rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Pillavino controls Peters momentarily but Peters frees himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Peters trying to move into half guard but instead Pillavino has managed to sweep! Pillavino looking to sit in guard and control but Peters gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Peters looking to pass the guard. Peters has gone for a leg lock! Pillavino slips out almost immediately though and dives into Peters's guard. Pillavino trying to control the position from guard on top but Peters is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Peters showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Pillavino is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Peters, into his guard. Pillavino passes into half guard. Peters takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Pillavino missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Pillavino is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Peters has managed to free his arm - good work. Pillavino thows a huge punch but Peters dodges it nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Pillavino is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Peters sees it coming and defends easily. Pillavino is trying to work for a kimura but Peters is defending well.
Pillavino wants to advance to full mount but Peters doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Peters working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pillavino doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pillavino manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Peters is looking to sweep but instead, Pillavino has passed into half guard.

Peters manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Pillavino throws a strike but Peters rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Peters drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Pillavino manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Peters has Pillavino in his guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to John Peters. I think Peters has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
