Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between lee park (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pasqualito Cortes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pasqualito Cortes will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pasqualito Cortes!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shirou Masuda and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

park stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cortes swivels though and keeps the full guard.

park closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
park tries to pass the half guard into mount. Cortes knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
park working over Cortes with some ground and pound. Cortes looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

park is just content to waste time from the top position. Cortes takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Cortes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. park gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

park is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

park is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee stands the fighters back up. lee park just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Cortes is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
park wants to improve his position but Cortes is controlling well.

Cortes is fighting to break park's control of his arms but park is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Cortes throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Cortes is looking to clinch but park is avoiding it.
park closes the distance and clinches up with Cortes, looking for a takedown. park pushes Cortes against the cage but Cortes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Cortes tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Cortes has his hands on park's head, controlling the position.

Cortes takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Cortes can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as park controls the pace.
park is working Cortes over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for park, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
