PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dave Amber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pebble Braithweight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Braithweight has chosen 300 violin as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Dave Amber has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Amber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Pebble Braithweight!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Glass and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amber throws a right and a left that Braithweight avoids nicely.
Dave Amber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Amber rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Braithweight moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Amber tries to clinch there but Braithweight circles away.

Amber shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Braithweight is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Braithweight trying to control but Amber postures up.
Braithweight landing rabbit punches to the side of Amber's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Amber wants to get back to his feet.
Braithweight trying to control but Amber postures up.

Braithweight has one foot on Amber's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Braithweight fails with a takedown attempt.
Amber doesn't manage to clinch there - Braithweight circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Amber.
Braithweight looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Braithweight rushes Amber and presses him up against the cage.
Amber working hard to break the clinch.
Braithweight tries to land a knee to the head but Amber blocks with his arms.

Amber breaks from the clinch.
Braithweight doesn't manage to clinch there - Amber circles away.
A head kick misses from Amber.

Amber throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Amber fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A combination from Amber does no damage.
Amber throws a right hand that Braithweight ducks under and follows up with a left that Braithweight also avoids with ease.
Braithweight dodges the punch combination from Amber.
Amber ducks under a wild hook from Braithweight.
A big right from Amber misses.
Braithweight wants to clinch up but Amber keeps it at a distance.
Amber looks to land a body kick but Braithweight moved away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Amber gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Amber takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Some wild striking there from Amber.
Amber tries to clinch up

and Braithweight counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Amber's guard now.
Braithweight in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Amber is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Braithweight is controlling him.
Braithweight slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pebble Braithweight dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Amber stuffs the takedown attempt from Braithweight. Braithweight gets slowly back to his feet.
Amber misses with a jab to the body

and Braithweight counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Braithweight.
Braithweight scores with a nice hook to the head.
Braithweight has a couple of punches blocked by Amber.
Amber misses with a hook from the clinch.

Braithweight lands a takedown into guard.
Braithweight passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Amber is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Amber can't do much from the bottom here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
An elbow from Braithweight crashes against the mat.
Amber is trying to buck Braithweight off.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Braithweight is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Amber is trying to escape and Braithweight transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Amber is forced to tap! Nice work there by Braithweight! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Pebble Braithweight!
