Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Ames (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Val Efondo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Val Efondo will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nathan Ames! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Val Efondo! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Columbo Gatti and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Efondo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Efondo misses with a few strikes there.
Efondo closes the distance and clinches. Efondo breaks from the clinch.
Efondo throws a series of punches but Ames avoids them all with ease. Efondo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ames. Ames misses with a body shot.
Efondo clinches up with Ames and pushes him back against the cage. Efondo throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Efondo is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Efondo throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Amess head. Efondo stops a takedown attempt from Ames.
A frustrated look appears on Ames's face as he tries to break the clinch. Efondo wants to break free but Ames has control.
Efondo has Ames pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ames manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Efondo is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Efondo tries for a takedown but Ames manages to get underhooks.
Efondo tries to circle away but Ames has him pinned against the cage. Efondo gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ames.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nathan Ames. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ames keeps control of Efondo as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Ames tries to score a body lock takedown but Efondo shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Ames wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Ames pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Ames shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Efondo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Efondo pulls Ames in to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ames trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ames trying to control but Efondo is working from the bottom. Ames passes into half guard. Ames trying to control from half guard but Efondo is working away. Ames seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Efondo is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Nathan Ames!
