Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ganny Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Vasa!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vasa moves into the clinch.

Vasa breaks from the clinch.
Green shoots in for a takedown but Vasa shows good takedown defense.

Vasa closes the distance and clinches.
Green working aggressively here.
Vasa digs a right hand into Green's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Green's gas tank.
Green fails to pull guard.
Vasa blocks an uppercut.

Vasa has hold of one of Green's legs. Green is fighting the takedown attempt but Vasa gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Vasa stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Vasa drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Check out the look on Vasa's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Vasa decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Green misses with a takedown

and Vasa moves into the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ganny Green. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vasa blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Vasa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Green tries to clinch but Vasa moves away

and Vasa counters with a single leg into guard. Green didn't expect that.
Vasa thows a big elbow that misses.
Vasa advances position into side control!
Green is breathing heavily.
Vasa works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vasa stands up and beckons Green to his feet.

Vasa drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Vasa not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Green on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Green tries to get out of the position.
Vasa lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Green is trying to control the position but Vasa postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vasa is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Vasa distracts Green with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Vasa gets to his feet - Green follows without any prompting.
Green could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Vasa drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Vasa connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Green some visible discomfort.
Green is letting Vasa control him for a moment.
Vasa's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Vasa scores with punches from side control.

Vasa scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Green to see if he's OK.
Green is trying to escape the position but Vasa is controlling the position.

Vasa has hold of Green's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Green tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Vasa cranks the arm and Green screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Green, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Nick Vasa!
