Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jason Clay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Broph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clay's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, When I come around (Live). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of London, Jason Clay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Craig Broph! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and Andrew Berry.
![](https://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/round1.jpg) The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clay looks for a takedown but Broph sprawls well. Broph keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Clay misses the shot to the body. Clay misses with the combination.
Broph comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Clay shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Broph napping and manages to drive through into side control! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Broph manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Broph is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Broph is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Clay is looking to get to half guard.

Broph fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Broph is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Clay can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Broph has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Broph cracks Clay with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Broph looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Broph jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Clay manages to avoid the submission attempt. Clay sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Clay tries to get to full guard but Broph has control of the leg. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Clay is working hard here to advance position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Clay looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Clay is breathing heavily.
Broph is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Clay regains full guard. Nicely done. Clay has his hands on Broph's head, controlling the position.
Broph got a little sloppy there for a moment and Clay has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Broph has managed to get both his arms back between Clay's legs - danger averted.

Broph is pressing down on Clay's thigh, looking to free his foot. Clay is holding on for now. Clay tries to get to full guard but Broph has control of the leg.

Clay tries to roll over but Broph keeps him under control.

Broph is pressing down on Clay's thigh, looking to free his foot. Clay is holding on for now. Broph looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Broph takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Clay shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Clay. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice uppercut there from Broph. Broph comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Broph closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Broph lands in his opponent's guard. Clay looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Broph puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Craig Broph dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Broph feints and as Clay raises his hands in defense, Broph changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Broph slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Broph wants to control but Clay is keeping him busy. Clay is looking for a sweep. Clay gets back to half guard. Clay wants to get back to full guard. Clay is in trouble now - Broph has advanced to mount! Clay can't escape the position.
Broph wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Clay tries to improve his position but instead Broph has taken his back! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Clay preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Broph. You can see the frustration on Clay's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
A lull in the action here.
Broph looking for the RNC. Broph throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Clay!
Broph looking to break Clay's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Clay remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Broph will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Broph connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Clay to escape the position.

Broph has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Broph is trying to stick to Clay's back but Clay is turning into Broph. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Broph's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Clay. Broph controls Clay momentarily but Clay frees himself. Broph keeping moving, preventing Clay from controlling successfully.

Broph is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Clay frees his head nicely. Oh but Broph has switched to an armbar! Clay is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
