Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lui Kang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benedict Cero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kang comes to the ring accompanied by Moby - Extreme Ways . Cero is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: This Is War. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lui Kang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Benedict Cero!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cero closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kang to the mat! Kang manages to get full guard.
Kang scores with a nice shot.
Kang wants to get back to his feet but Cero is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Kang keeping moving, preventing Cero from controlling successfully.
Kang tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Kang lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Cero!
Kang can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cero is looking to escape.
Kang is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Cero is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Cero tries to hold on but Kang postures up.

Kang tries to control but Cero wriggling away.
Kang can't control as he wanted to and Cero manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
Cero tries to roll over but Kang keeps him under control.
Kang is looking to take a break and control but Cero is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kang throws a head kick but Cero moves out of range.

and Cero moves into the clinch.
Kang wants to break the clinch but can't.
Kang looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Kang has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cero is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cero drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kang pulls his leg out and moves away.

Kang shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cero manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Kang is breathing heavily.
Kang tries to stand but Cero is controlling from the bottom.
Kang missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Cero looking for a sweep. Not yet Cero, not yet.
Kang trying to control the position from guard on top but Cero is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kang won't allow Cero to sweep him here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Cero closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kang circles away.
Cero throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kang's waist but Kang gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cero off to one side.
Lui Kang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Benedict Cero.

and Cero counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Cero.
Cero pushes down on Kang's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Cero lands a nice short elbow.

Kang tries to kick Cero off but Cero keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Cero might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kang kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Cero shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Cero was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Kang is trying desperately to improve position.
Cero wants to control the pace but Kang is squirming around nicely.
Kang sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

That's six minutes gone in the round.
Kang is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Cero scores with a couple of nice shots.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Cero in particular looking to stall.
Kang is trying to maintain the position but Cero is very close to passing his half guard.
Cero uses his free foot to push down on Kang's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kang.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Cero looking to control but Kang is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Kang wants to control but Cero is having none of it.

Kang keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Kang in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
The referee warns Kang that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Kang wants to hold on but Cero pushes him away.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Cero lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Cero is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Kang is surviving well by controlling Cero's body position as best he can.
Kang is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Kang jumps guard but Cero stands there with Kang around his waist. Kang gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Cero has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kang clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Kang is trying to stand back up.
Kang trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Kang is trying to get back to his feet but Cero has full control of the position and if anything, Kang has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Cero is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Kang knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Kang for a finish.
Cero is trying to stick to Kang's back but Kang is turning into Cero. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Cero's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Kang.
Kang has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cero is proving hard to escape from.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Cero fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kang sprawls well initially but Cero persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Kang is trying to get back to full guard.
Cero is stalling here. Kang is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Cero seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Kang has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Cero wants to control the position but Kang frees himself and scrambles - Cero manages to regain control in side control.

Benedict Cero comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Cero has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
