Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hiroishi Strichi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacques Francel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Strichi's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Pegasus Fantasy. Francel has chosen Voix de fait as his entrance music. Jacques Francel has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hiroishi Strichi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jacques Francel! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Strichi misses with a two punch combination.
Francel cracks Strichi with a big right hand and Strichi goes down!
It looks like Hiroishi Strichi has been cut. Francel with a flurry of punches that miss. Francel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Strichi swivels though and keeps the full guard. Strichi being controlled here, momentarily. Francel pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Strichi is keeping the position for now. Francel drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Strichi dives on top into guard. Francel keeping moving, preventing Strichi from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Francel is looking to stand up but Strichi isn't so interested in that idea. Francel managing to control the position. Francel is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Francel pushes Strichi off and gets back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Francel swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Strichi counters with a slapping leg kick. Strichi throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Strichi looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Francel cracks Strichi with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. A head kick misses from Strichi. Francel lands a jab to Strichi's midsection. Francel closes the distance and clinches up with Strichi, looking for a takedown. Francel pushes Strichi against the cage but Strichi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Strichi looks to land a combination but Francel avoids it well. Strichi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Francel counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Strichi's guard now. Strichi is breathing heavily. Strichi pushes Francel off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A low kick from Francel is predictable there and Strichi counters with a left and a right that stings Francel. Francel gets the takedown into side control. Francel lands a decent elbow from side control. Francel remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Strichi is not content to let Francel control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Francel looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Strichi is avoiding damage well.
Francel happy to just control the position for now. Francel tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Strichi dodges the ground and pound from Francel. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Strichi takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Jacques Francel seems to be getting the better of the standup. Francel throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Strichi was covering up waiting for the punch and Francel finishes the takedown easily into guard. Francel postures up in Strichi's guard and throws a big left but Strichi blocks it. Francel trying to control but Strichi is working from the bottom. Francel pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Strichi is keeping the position for now. Francel is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Strichi being controlled here, momentarily. Strichi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Francel is controlling him. Francel is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Strichi working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Francel. Francel is stalling in the full guard. Francel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Strichi swivels though and keeps the full guard. Strichi wants to stand but Francel is controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Francel throwing strikes from guard but Strichi blocks nicely. Francel is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Francel pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Strichi is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Francel connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Nice jab there from Francel. Strichi falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling Francel to counter with a crisp jab. Francel feints and as Strichi raises his hands in defense, Francel changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Francel trying to control but Strichi is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jacques Francel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Hiroishi Strichi's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Francel moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Francel is defended easily by Strichi. Francel throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Strichi sees it coming and avoids it easily. Jacques Francel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Francel shoots in for a takedown but Strichi shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Francel throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Strichi counters with a three punch combo that has Francel backing up. Francel nods at Strichi to acknowledge the strikes. Strichi misses with a series of wild punches.
Strichi throws a combination that misses and Francel counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Francel takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Strichi works over Francel's head and body with a nice combination.

and Francel counters with a three punch combo that has Strichi backing up. Strichi nods at Francel to acknowledge the strikes. Strichi misses with a few strikes there.

Francel drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Francel connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Strichi some visible discomfort.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Francel remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Francel throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Francel cracks Strichi with an elbow. That is naaassty. Francel content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Strichi takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Strichi pushes Francel away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Francel gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Strichi is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Francel moves into full mount! Francel looking to finish with strikes here!
Strichi wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Francel.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Francel lands a heavy elbow. Francel raining down shots from the mount! Francel misses with a head shot. Hiroishi Strichi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Francel jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Strichi manages to avoid the submission attempt. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Jacques Francel comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Francel has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
