The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendes shoots for a double leg takedown but Pacquiao sprawls well. He's pushed Mendes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Pacquiao lands a two punch combo.
Mendes fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Mendes moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Pacquiao connects with a single shot there.
Mendes shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pacquiao sprawls well. Pacquiao wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mendes gets slowly back to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mendes shoots in looking for a takedown. Pacquiao tries to sprawl out of it but Mendes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pacquiao manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Mendes is trying desperately to land a takedown but Pacquiao is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Mendes.
