Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ginchin Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hado Ken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Machida might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Clint Eastwood . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ginchin Machida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hado Ken!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Machida drives through and clinches with Ken against the ropes.
Ken fails to pull guard.

Ken successfully pulls guard.
Machida tries to stand but Ken is controlling from the bottom.

Ken is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Machida would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Machida wants to stand and escape but instead Ken has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Ken won't allow Machida to get back to his feet.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Machida manages to escape and get back to his feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Machida missing with a left hand there. Ken was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Machida moves into the clinch successfully.
Ken managing to block the knees to the body from Machida.
Ken fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Ginchin Machida has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hado Ken.
Ken tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Ken jumps guard but Machida stands there with Ken around his waist. Ken gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Machida has Ken pressed up against the ropes. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Machida pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Ken tumbling to the mat - Machida dives into Ken's guard.

Machida is looking to stand up but Ken won't let him.

Ken looking for a guillotine here but Machida defends easily.

Ken is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Machida is aware though and is defending well.

Machida stands and steps away. Ken gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Machida clinches with his opponent.
Ken tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Machida just stands there and leans against the ropes.
Machida is pressed up against the ropes. Ken has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Machida down to the mat. Machida avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Machida drives through and clinches with Ken against the ropes.
Ken tries to pull guard but Machida holds him up against the ropes and eventually Ken drops back down to his feet.
Ken tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Ken tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Machida just stands there and leans against the ropes.

Ken goes for a takedown in the clinch but Machida prevents it.
Ken jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Machida walks away with a smile on his face. Ken gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Machida's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Machida tries to bum rush Ken with a series of wild strikes but Ken uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Machida keeps the fight on the outside.

Machida clinches up with Ken and pushes him back against the ropes.
Ken jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Machida walks away with a smile on his face. Ken gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ginchin Machida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Machida swats away the attempt to clinch by Ken.
Machida pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ken slips a jab and a cross from Machida.
Machida lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ken circles away quickly and effectively.
Ken is looking to clinch but Machida is avoiding it.

and Machida counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Machida.
Ken fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ken tries to pull guard but Machida holds him up against the ropes and eventually Ken drops back down to his feet.
Ken blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Ken wants to clinch but Machida slips to the side

and Machida holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Machida breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The fight stays on the outside here - Ken looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ken tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Machida counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Machida.

Machida is working on a single leg takedown against the ropes. Ken can't fight it off and eventually Machida manages to take the fight to the floor. Ken looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Ken throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Machida escapes and throws Ken's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Machida gets to mount! Ken was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Machida is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Machida swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Machida keeps the fight on the outside.
Ken closes the distance looking to clinch

and Machida holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Ken jumps guard but Machida stands there with Ken around his waist. Ken gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Ken moves in looking to clinch but Machida pushes him off.
Ken avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Machida.
Machida scores with a sloppy right hand. Ken should have avoided that one.

Machida prevents Ken from improving his position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Ken is looking to control Machida's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ken avoid being mounted?
Machida wants to get back to his feet.

Well Machida has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
