Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Silva as Schmidt shoots in.

Silva moves into range and clinches up with Schmidt.
Silva gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Schmidt.
Silva landing knees to the head.
Silva tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Schmidt just stands there and leans against the cage.

Silva lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Schmidt.
Schmidt blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Schmidt goes for a takedown attempt but Silva pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Silva fails with an attempt to clinch.
Silva moves in looking to clinch but Schmidt pushes him off.

Schmidt has Silva pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Silva manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Silva tries to work over Schmidt's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Schmidt is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Silva gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Schmidt tries to score a body lock takedown but Silva shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Silva swings wildly with an uppercut but Schmidt uses good head movement to avoid it.

Schmidt has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Silva clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Silva is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Schmidt has got one arm under Silva's chin. This could be trouble... Silva trying to control the other hand but Schmidt gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Silva has tapped out! The fight is over!
