Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Sokolov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Eddie Dean enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Sokolov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Eddie Dean! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dean tries to keep at a distance but Sokolov has taken the fight into the clinch. Dean tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Dean tries to break the clinch but Sokolov is controlling the position. Sokolov drags the fight down to the ground.
Dean trying to control but Sokolov is working from the bottom. Sokolov trying to control the position here. Sokolov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sokolov pulls Dean in close to prevent any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dean stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sokolov swivels though and keeps the full guard. Dean trying to control but Sokolov is working from the bottom. Sokolov tries to land a sweep but no joy. Sokolov working a defensive guard here.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Sokolov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Dean sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Sokolov is keen to just control but Dean is a slippery customer. Dean looking for submissions off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dean tries to roll over but Sokolov keeps him under control. Dean looks gassed! Dean is pressing down on Sokolov's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Sokolov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Sokolov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dean swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Sokolov shoots in for a double leg but Dean sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Dean has his takedown stuffed and Sokolov counters with a single leg into guard. Dean didn't expect that.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sokolov gets to his feet. Dean looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Dean with a lazy takedown attempt and Sokolov counters with a thumping low kick. Eddie Dean seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sokolov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Dean moves into full guard.
Dean is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Dean looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sokolov is one step ahead there. Sokolov is sitting in close to Dean's body. Dean has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Sokolov is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Sokolov is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Dean.
