Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vitor Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz comes to the cage accompanied by Linkin Park feat. Jay-Z: Numb Encore. Brooks has chosen Lightning does the work as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vitor Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Brooks! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Diaz. A telegraphed right hand from Brooks misses the target. Brooks scores with the left hand. Diaz knows he should have avoided that one. Brooks lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Brooks throws a leg kick but Diaz sees it coming and moves out of range. Diaz blocks a leg kick. Diaz closes the distance and clinches up with Brooks, looking for a takedown. Diaz pushes Brooks against the cage but Brooks circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Diaz misses with a takedown attempt - Brooks sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vitor Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Diaz avoids the body shot from Brooks.

That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Diaz has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Brooks is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Diaz asserts his dominance and retains side control. Diaz thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Brooks is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Diaz is controlling him well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz is looking to take a break and control but Brooks is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Diaz goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Brooks rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Diaz's guard! Nice work there by Brooks! Diaz working a defensive guard here.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Diaz is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Brooks tries to kick Diaz off but Diaz keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Diaz is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Brooks is just riding it out for now. Diaz eventually gives up the hold. Diaz wants to work for an arm triangle but Brooks is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Jason Brooks dominated that round. The cut man is working on Vitor Diaz's cut. That's time! Diaz's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Diaz. Brooks looks to score with a jab to the body but Diaz is just out of range. Diaz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brooks's waist but Brooks gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Diaz off to one side. Brooks misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Diaz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Brooks missing with a left hand there. Diaz was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Brooks looks to land a right hand but Diaz moved out of range. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Diaz is defended easily by Brooks. Diaz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Brooks as he jumps to the side. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brooks darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Brooks misses with an uppercut. Diaz keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Brooks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz drops his hands momentarily and Brooks takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Jason Brooks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Diaz shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Brooks pinned against the cage. Brooks gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Brooks with a body punch. A glancing blow. Brooks lands with a shot to the body. Diaz fails with a takedown attempt. Brooks takes a swing at Diaz's ribcage but misses. Diaz staying out of range there. Brooks misses with a straight right. Brooks uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Diaz has time to react. Diaz tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Diaz blocks a head kick by Brooks.
Brooks cracks Diaz with a right hand to the side of the head. A decent looking cross lands there for Brooks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brooks misses with a looping left. Nice defenses there by Diaz. Jason Brooks is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Diaz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Brooks as he avoids it easily. Diaz has a takedown stuffed. Diaz shoots in but no luck this time. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Brooks cracks a nice hook into Diaz's ribs. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Brooks throws a nice head kick!

Brooks throws a hook to the side of Diaz's head but Diaz sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Brooks misses the shot to the body. Diaz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Brooks throws a nice looking combination but Diaz bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Brooks throws a big shot that misses. Brooks throws a nice head kick!
Diaz takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
A looping hook to the body misses from Brooks. Diaz does a little dance to reset his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brooks connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Diaz momentarily.
Brooks lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Brooks throws a leg kick but Diaz sees it coming and moves out of range. A combination from Brooks does no damage. Brooks throws a solid leg kick but Diaz takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Brooks. Brooks lands a jab. Diaz shoots in and drives through. Brooks sprawls well. Diaz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Brooks sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Diaz somewhat. Brooks keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Brooks - that will leave a mark!
Diaz will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown but Brooks shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Brooks stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Brooks wants it to stay on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brooks lunges at Diaz with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Diaz's hand. Brooks cracks Diaz with a right hand to the side of the head. Brooks lands a nice looking body kick. Diaz slips a straight right by Brooks. Brooks throws the left hand but Diaz avoids the punch easily. Diaz slips a straight right by Brooks. Diaz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brooks tries to avoid it but Diaz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brooks to the ground. Brooks escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Brooks changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Brooks lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A jab from Brooks does it's job there. Brooks bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Brooks throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Diaz stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Brooks turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Brooks is looking to slow Diaz down with leg kicks. Diaz takes one to the chin there. Brooks stuffs the takedown. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jason Brooks showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Vitor Diaz's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Diaz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Diaz has gone for a leg lock! Brooks slips out almost immediately though and dives into Diaz's guard. Brooks stopping the sweep attempt from Diaz. Brooks trying to stand up but can't free himself from Diaz's guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
