Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Postma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aoki Matsumoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kevin Postma has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kevin Postma! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aoki Matsumoto! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Postma throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Postma fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Matsumoto shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Matsumoto was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Postma working to try and regain half guard.
Matsumoto working for a submission but Postma is keeping him at bay. Postma tries to get back to half guard but can't. Postma tries to hold on but Matsumoto pushes him away. Matsumoto working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Matsumoto is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Postma is surviving well by controlling Matsumoto's body position as best he can. Postma is working to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Postma flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Matsumoto has control of Postma's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Postma regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Matsumoto wants to finish this one by submission but Postma is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Matsumoto. Matsumoto looks gassed! Matsumoto working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Postma keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Matsumoto wants to finish this one by submission but Postma is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Matsumoto. Postma is trying desperately to improve position. Postma is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Matsumoto goes for an armbar but Postma turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Postma. Postma throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Postma stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Matsumoto swivels though and keeps the full guard. Postma not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Postma knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Matsumoto on the ground. Postma pushing down on Matsumoto's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Postma with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Postma tries to pass the half guard into mount. Matsumoto knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Postma is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Aoki Matsumoto dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Postma with a lazy takedown attempt and Matsumoto counters with a single leg into guard. Postma didn't expect that. Matsumoto drops back looking for a leg! Postma is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Postma manages to kick Matsumoto off! Matsumoto jumps back into Postma's guard. Postma had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Matsumoto defends it easily. Matsumoto is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Matsumoto drops back, looking for a kneebar! Postma looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Postma looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Postma! Postma content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Matsumoto takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Postma lands a few punches from side control. Postma controlling the position from side mount. Matsumoto taking punishment in the form of punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Postma is working Matsumoto over with some ground and pound from side control. Postma remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Postma stands up and we're back to a striking position. Postma bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Matsumoto tries to buck Postma off but Postma is having none of it. Postma tries to advance to mount but Matsumoto denies him. Postma trying to control the action but Matsumoto is working from the bottom. Postma controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Postma lands a nice forearm strike. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kevin Postma dominated that second round. That's time! Postma's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

That's one minute gone in the round. Postma working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Matsumoto's head. Postma scoring with some ground and pound. Matsumoto looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Matsumoto is working an open guard so Postma takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Postma fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Matsumoto takes a kick to the side of the head. Matsumoto tries for a takedown but Postma circles away easily letting Postma counter with a right hand. The fight stays on the outside here - Postma looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Postma gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Matsumoto decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Postma's guard. Matsumoto thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Postma has Matsumoto pulled in close to control his posture. Matsumoto drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Matsumoto jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Postma is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Kevin Postma just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Matsumoto circles away from the clinch attempt so Matsumoto counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Postma trying to keep a closed guard but Matsumoto is proving a slippery customer.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Aoki Matsumoto. I think Matsumoto has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
