Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Honest Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Belfort comes into the arena with Burn It To The Ground blaring out of the sound system. Griffin comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I'm the Scatman kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be fireworks!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belfort throws a hook but Griffin avoids it easily.
Griffin doesn't manage to clinch there - Belfort circles away.
Belfort ducks right into an uppercut from Griffin.
Nice body punch from Griffin.
Belfort shoots in but no luck this time.
Griffin misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Belfort.
Belfort throws a right hand that Griffin ducks under and follows up with a left that Griffin also avoids with ease.
Griffin sizes up Belfort with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Belfort's corner calls for a 1-2. Belfort obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Griffin lands a body shot.
Griffin lands with a hook. Belfort tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
The fighters circling - Griffin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Belfort wants to free his trapped foot but Griffin is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Belfort misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Griffin wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Belfort.
Griffin is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Griffin throws a left and a right that both miss
and Belfort cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Griffin falls off balance throwing a combination
and Belfort counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Griffin!
Belfort lands with some strikes.
Belfort is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Griffin can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Griffin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Belfort has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Belfort throws some wild stikes that Griffin manages to avoid easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Belfort is landing with some decent strikes but Griffin is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
