Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Demitri Yschenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christus Pylqoe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pylqoe is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: HALLELUJA PRAISE JESUS. Demitri Yschenko has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Demitri Yschenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Christus Pylqoe!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Pylqoe looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Pylqoe clinches up against the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Pylqoe just misses with a elbow thrown towards Yschenko's brow.
Yschenko changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Pylqoe fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Yschenko closes the distance and clinches.

Pylqoe tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Pylqoe creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Yschenko's defenses.
Yschenko has Pylqoe pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Pylqoe manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Pylqoe tries to land a knee to the head but Yschenko blocks with his arms.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Yschenko gets underhooks to prevent Pylqoe's takedown attempt.

Pylqoe is trying to drag Yschenko to the mat but Yschenko just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Yschenko is working for takedown but Pylqoe is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Demitri Yschenko. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Yschenko is breathing heavily.
Yschenko fails to pull guard.
Pylqoe throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Yschenko drops down looking for an ankle pick but Pylqoe pulls his leg out and moves away.

and Yschenko counters with a shoot takedown. Pylqoe fights it but they end up in guard.
Yschenko wants to control from the top but Pylqoe keeps moving.
Pylqoe has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Pylqoe wants to stand but Yschenko is controlling the position.

Pylqoe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Yschenko gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Pylqoe is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Pylqoe tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Yschenko works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Yschenko wants to take a breather but Pylqoe is having none of it.
Pylqoe avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Yschenko.

Yschenko thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Yschenko wants to control but Pylqoe is keeping him busy.
Yschenko wants to pass the guard but Pylqoe is defending well.
Yschenko is trying to control. Pylqoe wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Pylqoe closes the distance but Yschenko moves to the side

so Yschenko counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Demitri Yschenko will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Yschenko swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Yschenko stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Yschenko wants it to stay on the feet.
Demitri Yschenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yschenko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Yschenko slaps away a takedown attempt from Pylqoe, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Pylqoe clinches but Yschenko breaks the clinch
letting Yschenko counter with a right hand.
Yschenko shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pylqoe pinned against the cage. Pylqoe gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Yschenko closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Yschenko slows the pace down.
Pylqoe is breathing heavily.

Yschenko is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pylqoe is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Yschenko wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pylqoe keeps working.

Yschenko decides to stand back up. Yschenko steps back and let's Pylqoe get back to his feet.
Yschenko changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pylqoe tries to avoid it but Yschenko manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pylqoe to the ground. Pylqoe escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Yschenko fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Pylqoe displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Yschenko.

and Yschenko counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Yschenko.
Yschenko wants to pass the guard but Pylqoe is keeping the position.

Yschenko decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Pylqoe, up you get!

Pylqoe pushes off an throws an elbow but Yschenko leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Yschenko is working for takedown but Pylqoe is calmly controlling the position for now.
Yschenko is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Yschenko avoids the elbow strike from Pylqoe, against the cage.
Yschenko goes for a takedown in the clinch but Pylqoe prevents it.

Pylqoe is working an open guard so Yschenko takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Yschenko blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Pylqoe tries to land knees in the clinch but Yschenko avoids the damage to the body.
Yschenko wants to break the clinch but can't.
Yschenko is pressed up against the cage. Pylqoe has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Yschenko down to the mat. Yschenko avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Yschenko stands and steps away. Pylqoe gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Demitri Yschenko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Pylqoe tries for a takedown but Yschenko manages to get underhooks.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Yschenko counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Yschenko looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Pylqoe!
Pylqoe wants to hold on but Yschenko pushes him away.

Pylqoe can't escape the position.
Yschenko pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Demitri Yschenko overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Yschenko controlling the pace for now.
Yschenko tries to control but Pylqoe wriggling away.
Yschenko prevents Pylqoe from getting the reversal.

Yschenko lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Pylqoe hang on?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Yschenko looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Pylqoe manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Yschenko is keen to just control but Pylqoe is a slippery customer.
Yschenko working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Pylqoe's thigh. Pylqoe counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Christus Pylqoe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Yschenko has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Yschenko is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Yschenko seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pylqoe for as long as he can get away with.
Yschenko has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Demitri Yschenko showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Yschenko, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
