Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Percival Butcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ragnar Vedhult (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vedhult has chosen Swedish army orchestra - Beneath our banner as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Percival Butcher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ragnar Vedhult!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Dmitry Maklakov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vedhult shoots for a takedown but Butcher saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Butcher keeps the fight on the outside.
Butcher throws the left hand but Vedhult avoids the punch easily.
Vedhult throws a body punch but Butcher moves out of range.
Butcher looks to score with a jab to the body but Vedhult is just out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Vedhult looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Vedhult ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Butcher keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Butcher ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Vedhult moves away.

Butcher is in all sorts of trouble here.

Vedhult is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Butcher has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Butcher!

Vedhult working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Butcher doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Butcher manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Vedhult is looking to sweep but instead, Butcher has passed into half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Vedhult manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Butcher is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Butcher wants to pass the guard but Vedhult is keeping the position.
Butcher will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Vedhult bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Butcher's guard.

Vedhult drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Butcher manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Vedhult has Butcher in his guard.

Vedhult is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Poor strikes thrown by Vedhult there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

A close round but Ragnar Vedhult will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


A jab from Vedhult finds it's way through Butcher's defenses.
Butcher lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Vedhult fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Butcher avoids it really well and circles away.
Vedhult fails with the takedown.
Vedhult has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Vedhult there as he acknowledges the shot.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Vedhult.
Percival Butcher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ragnar Vedhult.

Vedhult closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Butcher did well to prevent Vedhult getting side control.

Vedhult is looking for a kimura but Butcher is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Vedhult to get the leverage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Butcher is refusing to be controlled, as Vedhult sits in half guard.

Vedhult is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Vedhult tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Butcher smiles and moves away.
Vedhult fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Butcher connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Vedhult is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Butcher swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Butcher is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Vedhult sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Vedhult is looking for a triangle here but Butcher uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Vedhult tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Butcher wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
You can see the frustration on Vedhult's face as Butcher controls the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Ragnar Vedhult will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Vedhult shoots in but Butcher avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Butcher will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Vedhult is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Vedhult gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Vedhult keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Butcher's efforts to push away.
Butcher is looking to break free of the clinch but Vedhult has double underhooks.

Butcher blocks a body shot from Vedhult.
Butcher tries to circle away but Vedhult has him pinned against the cage.
Vedhult stalls.
Vedhult keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Butcher's efforts to push away.
Percival Butcher has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
