Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Lotus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryan Sherk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lotus kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Eye of the tiger. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, Tommy Lotus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bryan Sherk! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lotus swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lotus misses with a wild combination.
Sherk avoids the body shot from Lotus.
Lotus on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Lotus shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Sherk is staying active underneath Lotus, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Sherk works his way to full guard. Good work. Sherk keeping full guard, as Lotus tries to pass. Lotus trying to control the position from guard on top but Sherk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sherk is looking for a triangle but Lotus pushes his legs off easily.
Lotus has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lotus accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sherk wants to sweep but no luck. Sherk is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lotus is aware though and is defending well. Lotus decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Sherk fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Lotus works Sherk's body with a nice hook. Lotus throws a body punch but Sherk moves out of range. Lotus fails to land with a series of punches.
Sherk slaps away a takedown attempt from Lotus, before circling back to the center of the mat. Sherk is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lotus.
That's two minutes gone in the round. No joy there for Lotus, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Lotus throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lotus is looking to wear down Sherk with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Sherk misses with the combination.
Sherk avoids a punch combination nicely.
Lotus bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Lotus's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Lotus duly obliges.
It looks like Bryan Sherk has been cut. Lotus connects with a right hand. Sherk shakes it off. No luck with that takedown attempt from Lotus. Lotus throws a nice looking combination but Sherk bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Lotus swings for the body but Sherk moves out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sherk misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Tommy Lotus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lotus throws a right hand that Sherk ducks under and follows up with a left that Sherk also avoids with ease. Sherk needs to keep his hands up - Lotus had a free shot at his head there. Sherk gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Lotus counters with a shoot takedown. Sherk fights it but they end up in guard. Tommy Lotus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bryan Sherk. Lotus wants to get up but he can't break Sherk's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Lotus is breathing heavily. Sherk manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lotus manages to get himself to full guard.
Sherk wants to pass the guard but Lotus is keeping the position. Sherk won't allow Lotus to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lotus controls Sherk momentarily but Sherk frees himself. Sherk is pushing down on Lotus's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lotus is fighting to maintain full guard but Sherk has managed to sneak the leg through. Sherk throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Lotus is not content to let Sherk control the position. Lotus wants to improve his position but Sherk is controlling well.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Nice defenses there by Sherk. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tommy Lotus dominated that round. The cut man is working on Bryan Sherk's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Sherk looks for a takedown but Lotus sprawls well. Sherk shoots in looking for a takedown. Lotus tries to sprawl out of it but Sherk keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lotus manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Lotus uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sherk. Lotus bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Lotus is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sherk knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Lotus taking a break here but Sherk is having none of it and regains half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lotus is thwarting Sherk's attempts to control the position. Lotus is keen to just control but Sherk is a slippery customer. Sherk gets back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Lotus looking to pass the guard. Lotus has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sherk is proving hard to escape from. Lotus pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sherk is keeping the position for now.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lotus moves into range and connects with a jab. Lotus throws a right and a left that both miss. Lotus throws a jab but it's blocked by Sherk. Sherk tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lotus was well out of range. Poor timing from Sherk.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sherk throws out a loose jab but Lotus uses good head movement to avoid it. Sherk misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A punch combination from Lotus misses. Lotus uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sherk. A slow jab from Sherk misses its intended target. Lotus throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sherk. Lotus shoots and misses and Sherk counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sherk. Lotus tries to land a sweep but no joy. Sherk lands a couple of digs. Sherk controls from within his opponent's guard. Lotus is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sherk is looking to advance position but Lotus has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Lotus is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Sherk to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Sherk shrugs it off. Sherk is looking to get to half guard. Sherk tries to improve his position but instead Lotus has taken his back! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sherk is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
A lull in the action here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Bryan Sherk will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Bryan Sherk's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Lotus fails with the takedown and Sherk counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Lotus's guard now. Lotus looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lotus can't keep his opponent in guard - Sherk advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Sherk not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Lotus is looking for a sweep. Sherk is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Lotus is looking to get back to full guard here but Sherk has managed to pass to side control instead. Sherk sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Lotus wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Bryan Sherk has got the better of the ground game so far. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lotus prevents Sherk from getting a body triangle. Sherk working for the choke. Lotus manages to reverse the position and now he's in Sherk's guard. Nice work there by Lotus.
Lotus not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lotus wants to control from the top but Sherk keeps moving. Lotus pushes down on Sherk's leg and manages to get into half guard. Lotus trying to control the action but Sherk is working from the bottom. Sherk is in trouble now - Lotus has advanced to mount! Lotus wants to stand but Sherk is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sherk is looking to get to half guard. Sherk gets back to half guard. Sherk looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Lotus wants to pass to mount but Sherk is defending the position. Sherk keeping control of the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Lotus is just content to waste time from the top position. Sherk takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Lotus trying to control but Sherk is working from the bottom. Lotus wants to get up but he can't break Sherk's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Lotus stays in close to Sherk's body and controls the position. Sherk looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
And that's the end of the fight! Bryan Sherk comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Sherk has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
