Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Boris Anyukov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kazimirs Kamazs! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Valeri Chadov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kamazs shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Anyukov defends it nicely. Anyukov keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Kamazs shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Kamazs lands with some strikes. Kamazs is landing with some decent strikes but Anyukov is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Kamazs thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Kamazs is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Anyukov has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Kamazs with a couple of short strikes. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kamazs landing strikes from the mount and Anyukov is in trouble!
It looks like Boris Anyukov has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anyukov tries to hold on but Kamazs postures up. Anyukov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kamazs on the ground. Anyukov is breathing heavily. Kamazs is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Anyukov can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Kamazs trying to control but Anyukov is having none of it. Kamazs throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Kamazs throws some wild stikes that Anyukov manages to avoid easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Kamazs swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Anyukov is now in Kamazs's guard. A big mistake from Kamazs there, giving up the dominant position! Kamazs being controlled here, momentarily. Anyukov preventing the sweep. Kamazs working for a triangle but Anyukov defends it easily.
Kamazs utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Anyukov wants to control from the top but Kamazs keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kamazs preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Kamazs has his feet on Anyukov's thighs here. He's pushed Anyukov off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Anyukov screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
