Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dudley Brinks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brett Richards!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brinks misses with a two punch combination.
Brinks works over Richards's head and body with a nice combination.
Brinks swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Brinks gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Richards to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Brinks wants to stand but Richards is controlling the position.

Richards drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Richards jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Richards is pushing down on Brinks's leg trying to pass to half guard. Brinks is fighting to maintain full guard but Richards has managed to sneak the leg through.

Richards is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Brinks sees it coming and defends easily.

Richards is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Brinks defends it well.
Richards prevents Brinks from standing back up.

Richards seems to be looking for submissions.

Brinks won't allow Richards to pass to mount.

Brinks is trying to stand up here but Richards is controlling him well.

Richards is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Richards is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Brinks defends it well.
Brinks tries to kick Richards off but Richards keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Richards is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Brinks is just riding it out for now. Richards eventually gives up the hold.
Brinks pushes Richards off looking to stand but Richards dives back in and keeps control.
Brinks won't allow Richards to pass to mount.
Brinks is trying to stand up here but Richards is controlling him well.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Richards has closed the distance and engaged Brinks in a clinch.
Richards has Brinks pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Brinks manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Richards is trying to break the clinch but Brinks is controlling him.

Brinks breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Brinks throws out a leg kick but Richards moves out of range and Brinks only half commits.
Brinks throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Richards.
Brinks will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Brinks pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Brinks fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Brinks throws a series of punches but Richards moves out of range.
Brinks thows a body shot but no joy.
Brinks throws the left hand but Richards avoids the punch easily.
Brinks misses with a series of wild punches.
A big right from Brinks misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Richards moves out of range as Brinks strikes.
Dudley Brinks is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Brinks lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Richards circles away quickly and effectively.
Brinks throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Brinks throws a nice looking combination but Richards bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Richards shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Brinks manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Brinks wants to get back to his feet but Richards is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Richards thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Richards drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Richards seems to have locked his on tight now - Brinks screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Richards, as he picks up the win!
