Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Christopher Williams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bro Seph! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams throws a series of punches but Seph avoids them all with ease. Williams stuffs the takedown. Williams throws a low kick but it's checked well by Seph. Williams misses with a jab, cross combination.
Williams rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Seph moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Seph looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Williams is fending him off so far but Seph persists. Nope, Williams circles away and we're back to standing. Seph rushes Williams and presses him up against the cage. Seph tries to pull guard but Williams holds him up against the cage and eventually Seph drops back down to his feet.
Christopher Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bro Seph. Williams has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Seph keeps control of Williams as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Seph takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Seph has Williams pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Williams manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Williams gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Seph.
Seph is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
That's one minute gone in the round. Seph fails to pull guard.
Williams takes a shot to the head. Seph changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Williams fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Seph pushes Williams up against the cage in a clinch. Seph wants to get back to striking at distance but Williams won't allow it.
Williams escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Christopher Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Williams misses with a few strikes there.
Williams scores with a push kick. Seph looks gassed! Seph throws a right and a left that Williams avoids nicely. Williams throws a leg kick that misses. Williams attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Williams lands a nice looking body kick. Williams lands a left and a right that send Seph crashing to the mat, dazed. Williams thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Seph is rocked!
It looks like Bro Seph has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Williams connects with a nice cross there... Seph is looking wobbly and Williams recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Seph to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Williams jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
