Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Crunkski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Javier Noriega! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crunkski misses with a few strikes there.
Noriega displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Crunkski throws out the jab. Crunkski blocks a jab. Noriega lands a right hook to the body.

Noriega shoots in but no luck this time. The fighters circling - Crunkski throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Crunkski's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Crunkski duly obliges.
It looks like Javier Noriega has been cut. Crunkski is looking to score with low kicks. Crunkski changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Crunkski cracks Noriega with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Crunkski misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Crunkski misses with a hook from the clinch. Noriega struggles to land a body shot inside as Crunkski controls his hands.

Crunkski looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Noriega jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Crunkski walks away with a smile on his face. Noriega gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Noriega avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

It looks like Mike Crunkski has been cut. Noriega is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Crunkski rather than just go for the knockout. Noriega closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Noriega lands in his opponent's guard. Crunkski is breathing heavily. Noriegais looking to pass into half guard but Crunkski pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Crunkski is in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Noriega lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Crunkski! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Noriega has hold of Crunkski's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Crunkski manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Noriega goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Crunkski turns into him and now he's in Noriega's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Crunkski throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Noriega works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Noriega preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Crunkski preventing the sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Crunkski working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Crunkski trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Crunkski throws a strike but Noriega rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Noriega drops back, looking for a kneebar! Crunkski looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Crunkski looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Crunkski!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Noriega manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Noriega is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Crunkski has managed to free his arm - good work. Crunkski wants to improve his position but Noriega is controlling well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Crunkski is trying to maintain the position but Noriega is very close to passing his half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mike Crunkski will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's time! Back to the action!

Noriega looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Crunkski misses with a wild body shot. Crunkski throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Crunkski is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Noriega. Noriega moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Noriega ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Crunkski moves away. Crunkski throws a front kick aimed at Noriega's knee but Noriega avoids it well. Noriega gets in close and instigates a clinch. Crunkski has had enough of the clinch but Noriega keeps him there for the moment. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Crunkski. Noriega looking to slow down the pace here. Noriega jumps guard but Crunkski stands there with Noriega around his waist. Noriega gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Crunkski has his hands clasped together but Noriega extends an breaks Crunkski's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Noriega.
