PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tristan Creed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brocks Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brocks Lesnar is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tristan Creed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brocks Lesnar!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnar fails with the takedown.
Creed lands with a thumping leg kick.

Creed changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lesnar looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Creed advances nicely into full mount.
Lesnar in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lesnar is squirming around, avoiding Creed's attempts to control the action.

Lesnar is in a horrible position here. Creed smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Creed tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Creed takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Creed seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lesnar for as long as he can get away with.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Tristan Creed just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Creed leaves Lesnar with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Creed closes the distance and pushes Lesnar back into the cage.

Creed's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A head kick misses from Creed.
Creed doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Lesnar counters with a two punch combo.

Horrible takedown by Lesnar or perhaps it was just good defense by Creed which made him look bad.
Tristan Creed has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brocks Lesnar.
Creed swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

so Lesnar counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Lesnar trying to control the position from guard on top but Creed is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lesnar is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Lesnar doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Lesnar rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Creed moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Creed fails with a takedown attempt.

Lesnar shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Creed can't escape the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lesnar looking to control and managing it successfully.
Creed regains half guard.

Creed punching from the bottom.
Lesnar not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Creed is positioning himself well to prevent Lesnar advancing to mount.
Lesnar tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Creed keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Creed tries to get to full guard but Lesnar has control of the leg.
Creed moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Lesnar trying to control the position from guard on top but Creed is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Creed is trying to keep Lesnar in close.

Creed pushes Lesnar off and gets back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Creed shoots in and drives through. Lesnar sprawls well.
Lesnar will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Lesnar shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lesnar showed some decent athleticism there.
Tristan Creed overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Lesnar looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Creed with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Creed is holding on to half guard well.
Creed is trying to control but can't.

Lesnar decides to stand and escape the position.

Lesnar forces Creed back against the cage and clinches.

Creed breaks from the clinch.

Creed fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lesnar sprawls well initially but Creed persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Creed is trying to control the action in half guard but Lesnar is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lesnar holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Brocks Lesnar will probably get the nod - 10:9.

That's time! Back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


No joy there for Creed, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Creed feints and as Lesnar raises his hands in defense, Creed changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Creed seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Creed stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lesnar swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Creed is working hard here to advance position.

Lesnar had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Creed defends it easily.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lesnar managing to control the position.
Lesnar throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Creed pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lesnar is keeping the position for now.
Lesnar looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Lesnar looking to control.
Creed sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Creed wants to control from the top but Lesnar keeps moving.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Lesnar wants to clinch up but Creed keeps it at a distance.

Lesnar feints and as Creed raises his hands in defense, Lesnar changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lesnar looking to sit in guard and control but Creed gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Creed slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Creed is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Lesnar is trying to escape and Creed transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Lesnar is forced to tap! Nice work there by Creed! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Tristan Creed!
