The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Creed swings for the body but Gonzalez moves out of range.
Gonzalez keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

It looks like Apollo Creed has been cut.
Creed throws a low kick but Gonzalez avoids it.
A combination from Creed does no damage.
Gonzalez cracks Creed with a right hand to the side of the head.
A punch lands to the side of Gonzalez 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Gonzalez thows a left - swing and a miss!

Creed clinches with his opponent.
Gonzalez works on Creed's body with a couple of short punches.
Creed presses Gonzalez against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Creed can't break the clinch.
Creed has a couple of punches blocked by Gonzalez.
Gonzalez's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Creed blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Gonzalez tries to work over Creed's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Gonzalez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Creed wants to clinch up but Gonzalez keeps it at a distance.
Creed jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Creed throws a hook but Gonzalez avoids it easily.
An inside leg kick lands from Gonzalez.
Creed blocks a jab.
Jesus Gonzalez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gonzalez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Creed circles away quickly and effectively.

and Gonzalez scores with a counter punch that sends Creed to the canvas! Gonzalez smells blood - he's punishing Creed with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Creed has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
