Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Batukmol Manigbas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Vipers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matt Vipers is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Batukmol Manigbas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Matt Vipers!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vipers shoots in for a double leg but Manigbas sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Vipers takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Vipers blocks a head kick by Manigbas.
Manigbas misses with the combination.

Manigbas throws a head kick but Vipers moves out of range.
Vipers takes a jab right on the kisser.

Vipers gets the takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Manigbas wants to control but Vipers postures up.
Vipers takes a little break here. Manigbas wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Manigbas pushes Vipers away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Vipers gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Manigbas is trying to escape the position but Vipers is controlling the position.
Let's hope that Vipers has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Vipers wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Manigbas, who protects the arm well.
Vipers takes a little break here. Manigbas wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Despite being in the dominant position, Matt Vipers just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Manigbas cracks a nice hook into Vipers's ribs.
Vipers looks for a takedown but Manigbas sprawls well.
No joy there for Manigbas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Vipers shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
You get the feeling that Manigbas really doesn't like being in this position too much.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Manigbas is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
I looks like Vipers might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Vipers closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Manigbas is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Vipers has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Vipers throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Manigbas's waist but Manigbas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vipers off to one side.
Manigbas looks to land a body kick but Vipers moved away.
Vipers closes the distance and clinches up with Manigbas, looking for a takedown. Vipers pushes Manigbas against the cage but Manigbas circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Manigbas tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Vipers shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Manigbas pinned against the cage. Manigbas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Batukmol Manigbas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Vipers.

Vipers fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Manigbas sprawls well initially but Vipers persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Vipers is working for a kimura but Manigbas is defending it quite comfortably.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Manigbas tries to get to full guard but Vipers has control of the leg.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Vipers shoots in for a takedown but Manigbas shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Vipers takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Manigbas's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Manigbas is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
