Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Josh Wentworth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Sellic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wentworth comes to the cage accompanied by Spitfire by The Prodigy. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wentworth shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Wentworth showed some decent athleticism there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wentworth trying to pass the guard but Sellic defending well. Wentworth throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Wentworth thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sellic's head. Sellic avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Wentworth. Sellic is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Wentworth thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Sellic moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Sellic is controlling Wentworth's posture. Sellic had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wentworth defends it easily. Sellic throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wentworth with a flurry of punches that miss. Wentworth working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Sellic wants to stand up but Wentworth is controlling him. Wentworth stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sellic swivels though and keeps the full guard. Wentworth postures up in Sellic's guard and throws a big left but Sellic blocks it. Wentworth missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Sellic misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Sellic throws a nice looking combination but Wentworth bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Josh Wentworth seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Sellic takes a swing at Wentworth's ribcage but misses. Sellic throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Wentworth drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Wentworth thows a big elbow that misses. Sellic seems keen to control Wentworth's posture. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Wentworth trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Sellic has momentary wrist control but Wentworth slips an elbow through the middle. Wentworth tries to free his leg and advance position but Sellic is retaining full guard. Sellic looking to control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sellic controls Wentworth momentarily but Wentworth frees himself. Sellic throws a couple of heel strikes.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sellic works his way into side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wentworth is trying to control Sellic's posture but Sellic avoids it. Wentworth seems to have got his legs back now. Sellic working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Sellic tries to move to mount but Wentworth blocks the move with his legs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Don Sellic dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Sellic throws a lazy right hand but Wentworth sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Sellic misses with a double jab.
Josh Wentworth is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Wentworth fails in his attempt to clinch. Wentworth fails with the takedown and Sellic counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Wentworth tries to clinch there but Sellic circles away.

Sellic is working Wentworth over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Sellic is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Wentworth is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sellic defends well. Wentworth controls Sellic momentarily but Sellic frees himself. Wentworth looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sellic is one step ahead there. Sellic must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Sellic wants to control from the top but Wentworth keeps moving.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Wentworth clinches with his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Sellic decides to pull guard. Sellic wants to sweep here but Wentworth controlling him for the moment. Sellic is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Wentworth stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sellic swivels though and keeps the full guard. Sellic wants to stand up but Wentworth is controlling him. Wentworth is looking to work some ground and pound but Sellic has wrist control. Sellic is trying to keep Wentworth in close.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sellic has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Wentworth blocks a head kick by Sellic.
Sellic scores with a hook to the body. Wentworth takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Sellic looks to score with a jab to the body but Wentworth is just out of range. Wentworth closes the distance looking to clinch and Wentworth takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Wentworth shoots in and bounces Sellic off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Wentworth stands up over Sellic, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Sellic is looking for a triangle but Wentworth pushes his legs off easily.

Wentworth doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wentworth manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Wentworth misses with a combination
and Sellic counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Wentworth tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Sellic counters with a nice uppercut. Wentworth fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sellic avoids it really well and circles away. Wentworth moves out of range as Sellic strikes. Wentworth dives in and grabs Sellic's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sellic pushes down on Wentworth's head and hops out. Wentworth shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sellic pinned against the cage. Sellic gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Wentworth. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sellic cracks Wentworth with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Wentworth looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Sellic finish him?
Wentworth wants to clinch and Sellic counters with a big right hand! Oh Wentworth is in trouble here! Sellic follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
