The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romeo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Haawa circles away quickly and effectively. Romeo throws a right and a left that Haawa avoids nicely. Romeo throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Romeo lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Romeo lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Romeo. Haawa throws a nice inside leg kick. Haawa shoots for a takedown but Romeo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Haawa shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Romeo is trying to defend but Haawa finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Romeo has hold of Haawa's hands but Haawa slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Haawa seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Romeo is trying to stand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Haawa is trying to work for a kimura but Romeo is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Haawa sitting and controlling from the half guard. Romeo blocking the ground and pound attempt from Haawa. Haawa is pressing down on Romeo's thigh, looking to free his foot. Romeo is holding on for now. Haawa is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Haawa is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Nice takedown defense from Romeo. No joy for Haawa on that attempt. Haawa doesn't manage to clinch there - Romeo circles away.
Haawa fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Terence Romeo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ronnie Haawa. Romeo shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Haawa napping and manages to drive through into side control!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Romeo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Haawa has escaped the position, nice work there. Haawa is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Romeo asserts his dominance and retains side control. Haawa looks gassed! Romeo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Haawa, who protects the arm well. Romeo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Romeo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Haawa sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Romeo working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Haawa's thigh. Haawa counters though and makes it back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Terence Romeo dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Romeo drives through with a takedown into guard. Romeo works a leg free and moves into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Romeo prevents Haawa from improving his position. Romeo is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Haawa has managed to free his arm - good work. Romeo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Haawa keeping hold of Romeo's head, controlling as best he can. Romeo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Haawa is trying to control but can't.
Haawa is positioning himself well to prevent Romeo advancing to mount. Romeo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Haawa makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Haawa. Romeo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Haawa is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Romeo, into his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Haawa trying to control but Romeo is working from the bottom. Haawa wants to stand but Romeo is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Haawa tries to free his leg and advance position but Romeo is retaining full guard. Haawa not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Romeo is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Haawa tries to free his leg and advance position but Romeo is retaining full guard. Romeo has his feet on Haawa's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Romeo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Haawa as he jumps to the side. Romeo gets the takedown into side control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Romeo swings around for an armbar but Haawa sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Romeo's guard. Romeo wants to stand and escape but Haawa is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Terence Romeo dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Haawa misses with a looping left. Romeo tries for a takedown but Haawa circles away easily and Haawa counters with a nice double leg into guard. Haawa loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Haawa throwing strikes from guard but Romeo blocks nicely. Haawa is looking to work some ground and pound but Romeo has wrist control. Romeo wants to stand up but Haawa is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Haawa trying to control but Romeo is working from the bottom. Haawa controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Haawa must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Haawa tries to stand but Romeo is controlling from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Romeo looks to land a combination but Haawa avoids it well. Terence Romeo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Romeo moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Romeo has his takedown stuffed and Haawa counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Romeo! Haawa controlling the position easily from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Romeo is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Haawa swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Romeo is now in Haawa's guard. A big mistake from Haawa there, giving up the dominant position! Ronnie Haawa has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Romeo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Haawa is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Haawa controlling the pace. Romeo tries to kick Haawa off but Haawa keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Ronnie Haawa comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Romeo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
