Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Maigel Rodriguez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ja Co! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Rodriguez with a couple of short strikes. Co wants to control but Rodriguez is having none of it. Co is wriggling around trying to escape.
Rodriguez avoids the attempt from Co to control. Rodriguez has hold of Co's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Co manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Rodriguez is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Co to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Co shrugs it off. Co can't escape the position.
Rodriguez has control of Co's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Co regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Rodriguez prevents Co from getting the reversal.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rodriguez is landing with some decent strikes but Co is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Co regains half guard. Co tries to roll over but Rodriguez keeps him under control. Rodriguez is trying to control the action in half guard but Co is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Co is looking for a sweep. Rodriguez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Co misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Rodriguez thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Co's head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Co is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rodriguez pulls his head out easily. Rodriguez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Co defends it well. Rodriguez is breathing heavily. Rodriguez is looking for a kimura here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Co shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rodriguez keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Rodriguez is working hard here to advance position. Co jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Rodriguez manages to avoid the submission attempt. Rodriguez being controlled for a moment. Let's hope that Co has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Co is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Rodriguez looks calm but he's in trouble here. Co gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Rodriguez is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Co lets go of the hold and Rodriguez can pop his arm back in it's socket.
